The wider the rustic arbor, the longer must be the pieces of wood. When buying wood rustic arbor, consider cedar. Cedar is a soft wood, which makes it easier to cut. Also, it has physical properties that repel insects and insects.
Before starting construction, find out if you need to pull a building permit. Some municipalities require a permit before building any type of outdoor structure. Next, dig a hole at each corner of the rustic arbor. The holes will hold the posts in place. Check your local building codes to find out how deep the holes should be. Some building departments have guidelines for holes to be used to hold up a structure. Place the posts in the holes and use a bandage, as each post is straight up. Then fill each hole with concrete to the ground line. Allow the concrete to cure for 24 hours, and finish the project.
